Covid Safe Plan

Plan Completed by: Liam Gook (Owner)

Last Updated: 02 FEB 2021

We at Wayward Wanders are taking special measures to ensure the safety of you, our guests, as well as our guides during these uncertain times. As a tourism business operating outdoors, the current Victorian Government and Victoria Tourism Industry Council regulations and advice has minimal impacts on our operations. However, we will be keeping a close eye on any changes to regulations in order to help keep everyone safe.

As part keeping everyone safe, we ask that all guests read our COVID Safe Plan prior to joining us on tour to help you all better understand the current regulations and advice affecting our tours and tour participants.

Ensuring Physical Distancing

Tour guides will begin all tours with a Covid Safe briefing. Guests will be asked to keep a safe physical distance of 1.5m between themselves and the guide. The tour guide will remind guests throughout the tour of these Covid Safe physical distancing recommendations when required.

Handshakes and other physical greetings between guests and guides is not recommended.

Wearing A Face Covering

Face coverings are NOT currently required to be worn in outdoor areas, where our tours take place, under the current Victorian COVID-19 regulations. However, for tours that do require the use of public transport (Urban Eco and Sustainability Tour), all guests MUST have a mask on hand as it is a requirement to wear face coverings on public transportation.

Promoting Good Hygiene

Tour guides will carry hand sanitiser for guests to use when required. We will also promote hand washing when possible.

Should guests need to sneeze or cough, we recommend that your move away from the group and do so into the arch of your elbow in accordance with current government health advice.

Recording Keeping and Unwell Workers/Guests

Guest information, including name, email address and phone numbers, will be required for all individuals taking our tours. These details will be retained in case of COVID-19 outbreaks connected to our groups or visited locations. This information may be shared with relevant government health organisations if required.

If one of our guides exhibits COVID-19 symptoms, the tour will be cancelled or postponed to a later date and the guide will be requested to attend a COVID-19 testing site. A full refund will be issued in the event of a cancelled tour. If a guest exhibits COVID-19 symptoms, we kindly ask that they not attend the tour and recommend getting tested. If symptoms develop post tour, we request to be notified immediately and recommend that you get tested as soon as possible.

In the event of a confirmed COVID-19 positive case connected to our tour, DHHS will be contacted immediately and their advice will be followed closely.

Avoiding Interactions in Enclosed Spaces

Our tours are generally conducted in safe open and outdoor spaces. However, some enclosed spaces may be unavoidable. In these circumstances, the tour guide will give a recommendation to put on face coverings for that moment.

Group Size Limitations

Our normal tour group size limitations (Public tours max. 10 guests. Private tours max. 15 guests.) are currently not affected by COVID-19 restrictions.

School Groups

School group booking details will be retained in case of COVID-19 outbreaks connected to our groups or visited locations. We will not require school group students to check in or to give us their full details. However we do request that schools keep their own records on students attending our tours. If a student or teacher who has joined us on a tour returns a COVID-19 positive test result, we request to be contacted immediately. We will then contact DHHS for further advice.

Public Transportation

Some of our tours take public transportation. It is currently required for face coverings to be worn on public transportation. All guests are required to wear face coverings on public transport unless you hold a doctor authorised exemption.

Check-In Services

At the beginning of all tours, adult participants must check-in using the Service Victoria App. Please download this app onto your phone prior to the tour. If you do not have a smart phone or would prefer to check in manually, this option will be available from your guide. Please advise us before the tour if you would prefer manual check in.

For tours that visit local businesses, check in may be required for each of those businesses. This will be advised upon entry.

If you have any questions regarding this Covid Safe Plan or if you have any concerns about your safety when joining us on tour, please contact us and we will do our best to answer your questions.
